Gute morgen Otto, This is no surprise to me. Considering what music does for the learning process, especially the classics, perhaps more college students entering public schools should get a good dose. America's slide into the dungeon of ignorance will continue unabated until school administrators spend as much on music as they do sports or classroom teachers take matters into their own hands.

Ignore conterados. I studied music and classical piano before medicine. The orchestra played wonderfully. Some hiccups here and there, but I wouldn't discredit a faculty of physicians who've studied for over 20 years to heal the sick, and still have the time to rehearse and perform a Beethoven concerto.

It's the pianist's fault. He played way too fast. The rest are playing catch-up, indicated by the conductor a few times.

Like too many doctors, they are in too much of a hurry! They play the 2nd movement much too fast and slaughter all of its feeling and emotion. To see what I mean listen to the version posted by fabrizioibanez, or watch Helene Grimaud's version posted by Rizee's channel. It changes this music into something that pulls at your heart strings.

Maybe the best one of all the CONCERTS in the world EVER . THANKS ROGER!!! PS maaaany years ago (1981?) I had the VERY rare occasion to listen LIVE (= in the Concert hall of the Bucharest National Radio Orchestra) this CONCERT .Guss who was the PIANIST? .. .. .. LI MIN QIANG...the famous chinese one ! Lucky me - I have the LP too ! :-)))) PPS just in case...I might try to make a copy it as mp3..if ....interested.

Of course it is very impoite to cough DURING the performance at a Classical concert . After a movement in any concerto or symphony ,then people tend to clear their throats or cough ... This is a excellent performance by doctors ....but who is the pianist ? and who is the conductor ?
