Accept the lord jesus Christ into your heart. And stop letting sin take over your life. It only leads to death and it kills what god wants for you and his purpose in you!! In the old testament they would sacrifice animals for their sins and the blood of the animals would atone for our sins. But, when jesus died for us, his blood took away our sins too but, also cleared our conscious! He overcame the satan after rising from the cross. And so can we!! Take the word of god serious and pray to god!!

I have this disease, since i was 19 right now i'm 30 and have no symptoms but you do have to make life changes, no drinking at all even if your buddies and girlfriends are come one have one, you have to start loving fruits and vegetables, eat less meats more fiber, get regular colonscopy and if you are taking a drug that is working please do not ever stop taking it thinking you are okay, i know people who stopped their medicine then when they get a flare up the medicine is not effective anymore

Im currently fighting a flare right now.. Ive noticed by eating less i give my colon more time to "relax" especially before bedtime. Also "juicing" veggies, or making fruit smoothies has helped me significantly. I believe the trick is to ingest food that is not hard on your colon and easy to digest allowing the body to focus it's energy on the "healing process" Now this is working for me, but everyone is different. Perhaps give it a try...Good luck..

How old are you? Because I'm 18 now and I've been living with UC for a few months now however my symptoms have decreased randomly and I'm wondering if I should start medicine even though I'm feeling better.

I noticed a change six months ago in my body and finally went to the hospital and I was just diagnosed with a minor case of UC a few days ago. It was really scary at first but I'm on the newest medication for it and thankfully, I have the most accepting and loving people in my life, that I know I'll be okay. I felt better just from finally telling everyone what was wrong with me. I hope everything gets better for you, too!

Hi my name is Richard. I live in Canada and I have been recently diagnosed with UC although I think I've it since I was 19 years old. I am now 26 and things have got pretty bad. I just wanted to say that I think you seem like a very strong person and I want to thank you for sharing your experience. I have started treatment and for now I feel somewhat better... I do agree that living stress free makes a huge difference along with diet. I also wanted to say I think you're very beautiful.

I'm 33 now, diagnosed with severe Ulcerative Colitis exactly ten years ago. The hardest part is that I avoid personal relationships with everyone. I don't tell anyone that I have Ulcerative Colitis. People probably think I'm snobby because I turn down their requests to hang out without giving a reason even though I want to hang out. I don't want anyone to get in the habit of seeing me a lot because I don't want them to see that I have to constantly run to the bathroom when I am sick.

Got the diagnose 2 years ago (I'm 24 now). Didn't go to the hospital FOR 7 MONTHS (stupid, even tho healthcare is free in Sweden) and thought it was just something in my diet. Lost 20 pounds and realized I couldn't go on without treatment. Got Balsalazide to start with but didn't work. What does work is Cortizone (to cure the immediate symptome) and a daily 200 mg Azathioprine (immune repressive) works fine and I can eat everything. No special diet. I feel with you guys, UC sucks.

Hi. I have UC as well, I think I've been diagnosed with it for about 4 years. I had a flare up, and I've had different medications, right now one of them are prednisone (steroid) and I'm gaining heaps, and heaps of weight. I've been on it before, and I did gain weight in the past. It is also tricky because, I find I'm in so much unbearable pain a lot of the time that it's hard to get excersize done. I've haven't done excersize in about 4 weeks.

There is no cure to Ulcerative Colitis but some people can be in remission for a while with no flare ups. My dad has been in remission for 5 years. Im not doing well right now, I was diagnosed with it last april and it was something no 13 year old should ever go through

@tobytobs83. I have had UC since september 2006. They had me on a high dose of steroids for 2 weeks. then set me up with azthoproin (i dont i spelled it right lol) that is a anti rejection medicine, i also take lialda which is suppose to help keep the ulcers under control, and rectal meds. They all work great, they are very powerful drugs. if you are still having issues, mention to your doctor about lialda, it works great for me, it may help you out as well.

I have cured my self from IBD. There is hope. It takes some time but I changed my diet and lifestyle and i'm better now. My doctor said diet has nothing to do with it but he is wrong. I have a site healthwatchman dot c o m I'm not here to promote myself. I just hate seeing people suffer and want to help others get well. There is hope everyone.

Also because UC is auto-immune, our immune systems are more suppressed than others. Daily multivitamins and such things as airborne and flu shots, when illnesses are going around, serve it very well.
